CACHE definitely for Childcare, NVQ for Social Care.
Don't even think of doing an on line course.0 -

thanks, is there any qualification which covers all kinds of social care ?
the reason im asking for online or evening/ weekend courses is because i work full time during the day0 -
Depends what you actually want to do with the qualification. If you want to be a social worker then you will need the social work degree - OU do it but you have to be sponsored by employer.Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0

NVQ in Social Care can be used as a qualification in a variety of settings.

Yes, HNC social care, however its a full time course and includes SVQ which is placement based.

The Social Care Council regulates social work and social workers but the two fields are very different, with different qualifications and criteria.0

You are more likely to find the new qualifications on offer now more than NVQ's as the funding is stopping now. These are either certificates or diplomas and can be done at either level 2 or 3 (can be done at other levels but best to do a 2 or 3 )
Going to be hard to do these without having a work placement as a good portion of them are done by observation.0 -

Having been a childcare social worker for more years than I care to remember I can assure you that we come under the social care umbrella.Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0
