Specsavers forgot to take the number off my HC2 certificate.

I have been wearing contact lenses for a few years and was always told by specsavers that I could not use my HC2 certificate to get a discount on them. (when I first started wearing them, they said that I could, but in the end they did not honour it and said I was told wrong).

Every time I get some new lenses I ask if I can use the certificate. This time they said that I could because I wear yearly lenses. This suggests that I have been paying in the past when I didn't need to.

Anyway; On my last lense, I got the discount, but the person did not even look at the HC2 certificate. I have since received a copy of the form that I signed when I received the lense and a letter stating that they forgot to take the HC2 number and could I fill it in.

Are there any benefits of me not filling it in? e.g. Could I get a discount elsewhere?

Is there any particular reason why I should fill it in? I personally don't think I should fill it in as I would rather they lost the money and weren't able to make a claim with the NHS after the service I've received in the past.

You *could* be contacted by the NHS to chase the debt. When you signed the voucher to make the claim that is a declaration YOU are entitled to the voucher under its terms, if you are not or give false/incomplete info its on your head be it.

Its not a 'discount' its a payment given to Opticians for service received, you have had the benefit of that and the NHS will be paying the company you used the set amount. If you were to go elsewhere and claim again its an offence.

Just fill it in, i've had the nhs contact me in the past asking for verification of my entitlement to free treatment when I was pregnant and had to send them a copy of my entitlement.
Will save you hassle in the long run if you just give the info now.
