The Silver Sonic XL has had mixed reviews up to this point and overall there is very limited information available from it's users. From what we have been able to gather we determined that the Sonic XL does amplify sounds and make them louder but it doesn't amplify sound as greatly and perfectly as it's manufactures claim. Some users have said that the Silver Sonic XL works great while others have said that there is static and little sound amplification. This product is a 'personal amplifier'. Probably the best analogy I can think of is comparing a pair of magnifying glasses strapped to one's eyes vs. a pair of spectacles made to one's prescription. Two very different outcomes.

Quite correctly, the advertisers do not call the Silver Sonic XL a "hearing aid" - it would be illegal to do so.

Hearing aids from £350.00 upwards for a prescription-built item (and currently free of course via the NHS, for a behind-the-ear item).

Anyone tried one yet ? I saw them in Boots £20. Dare'nt buy incase hubbie doesn't like it. Thanks guys
