Loan completed but........
My partner finished paying an agreement with a finance company and recieved a letter stating they had recieved my final payment and account is closed. He recieved a letter this morning after a month stating that there was still money owing on the account from an error in 2007 (yes 4 yrs ago).
He checked when paying the final payment that there was nothing outstanding and was assured the account was now paid in full. Can they do this?

They can send you whatever they like. What you must do is go back and ask them for a full printout of the history of the loan and where the payments were missed before you pay anything extra.
go and check your partners bank statements to to ensure that no payments were missed too.one of the famous 5
