I wanna buy a large suitcase

Options
Hi All

I'm moving to work in Eindhoven soon after new year and need a large suit case to take plenty of clothes and things. I will also regularly (4 times a year) be taking 6 week business trips so will need to do the same then so the case will see plenty of use.

Does anyone know of anywhere doing good deals on good quality cases in the next week? I don't really fancy battling through the crowds in the sales when I only actually want one item. I think I'd like an 'upright' case with wheels. Perhaps a hard case would be worthwhile but weight is a concern as I'll regularly be very close to the airline weight limits and won't want to be stung for excess baggage.

I saw a 105L one in Debenhams which looked to fit the bill but was £50 down from £100. This seems a hefty price tag for a fairly simple item, but if it's a good deal and it's worth it then I'll pay it. Also saw a ~80L one on the 'seconds' bag stall in the market for £13 which looked reasonable quality but should I risk it letting me down?

Anyway, that's a lot of waffle just to ask: 'have you seen any good deals for a ~100L suit case?'

Cheers,

Jamp :)

If you intend to fly, before you buy a large suitcase, check the airline weight restrictions. Most nowdays are something like 22 Kg per case and the size not to exceed 115 ins approx for length+width+height. Each airline may be different but best to check before you buy the suitcase:D

Thanks for the thought. I have checked and know that I've got a measly 18kg on the Jet2 flight the company booked for me :( I'm back again later in January though, so will have another 20kg with bmibaby then. I can't see any reference to restrictions on hold luggage dimensions on either airline's website.

mum used to travel very very very regularly for work and the more expensive suitcases only lasted on average one or two extra trips so worked out cheaper to go for the cheaper ones
because of the way they chucked them around at the airports
