No idea of policy but unlikely as they have no idea of how it has been stored and would be unable to resell.

Do you just want your money back or is there something wrong with it. I would be very surprised if they were willing to just refund you, as the above poster says they do not know how it has been stored or even if it has been tampered with!

If there is something wrong with it such as its gone off - fair dos. If for you don't want it, we cannot give a refund due to the fact we have no clue how it was stored between purchase and attempted return. But if you just bought it like 10 mins ago and realise that you don't want it whilst loading the car up with shopping, you can return it.

A couple of weeks ago, we had a customer who shouted and hurled abuse at both the colleague at the CSD and the deputy store manager as we wouldn't refund his frozen chips. The packet was warm.

I would love to know why you want to return a chicken??
If it's not opened, then you wouldn't really know if it smells iffy.
Chicken would be classed as a "perishable" food, so no returns unless unfit to use.
Does it say on the packaging that you can get a refund if not happy with the product?? Might be an option.
    Strange one.

No they will not give refund Iam afraid. As it has been out of the store and it might have been stored at higher temperatures than to store policy. Therefore the store wouldnt be able to re-sell and would loose its money. It a foodhealth and safety law.

In that case you can -its a packaging and/or labeling fault. Take everything including packaging back to your store for a refund. Should be no problem at all.
