Got a Wii for Christmas?
Fancy Surfing the web with the WiiMote on your TV?
1 Setup you Wii to connect to your wireless router. Wired adapters will be available soon.
2 Say Yes to do Internet/Console/weather channel updates
3 Got to the shopping channel and download the trial version of the Wii Opera Web browser for free. It only takes a few mins

Thanks for that I'll try it tomorrow.
Have a good xmas (whats left of it)"Holding On For Dear Life" - read my true story of when my fiance suffered a stroke exactly 3 weeks before our wedding.
Available for the Amazon Kindle or iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch via iTunes.0 -

I don't believe there is another console out there with the facility (quite happy to be corrected).
The Wii is very extensible over it's wireless connection, so they can add new content (channels) when they want to. The Opera browser is free unil June and then there will be a small charge to continue to use it. The chargable version should have extra features, and is expected to cost less than £5 in Wii points (this may change).
I've used it a quite a bit already, it's pretty good for using through a big TV, as the zoom fuctions works well. MSE looks OK through the Wii so far!
One other tip, if you sit so far from the sensor bar that you can't surf from your chair, in Wii settings you can turn up the WiiMote's sensitivity. I can use mine over 20 feet from the TV now. Presumably the WiiMote batteries will last a little less, but I'm using rechargable NiMh's anyway.0 -
If u download the browser before june then it is free. After june it will cost 500 wii points to download. But aslong as you download before then it will always be free to use it.If this post helped you Please say thanks

Ok Basically Nintendo have released this browser as a trial to iron out any glitches or bugs, but it will become freely available (the full version) and will be free from March til the end of June so make sure you update it around then.
It is quite useful just to check the email every so often.
Also updating your console should allow for the forecast channel to come on, which is pretty neat imo.

I am rapidly losing faith in the forecast channel as it has said clear skies and sunny for every day since we got it, whereas it has been unremittingly cloudy, with occasional interludes of fog. I know the 5 day forecast is only ever going to be so accurate, but when the 'now' options tells me it should be bright sunshine when looking out the window says it is quite clearly grey...

It lists a URL for the weather data maintainers where you can complain. Ot of course you could just bookmark the BBC's weatherpage in the web-browser, although that isn't much better.0 -
If you have problems making the wireless connection to the Wii make sure your router is not using channel 6. Wii's don't seem to like channel 6 (which rules out using atheros Super-G mode).0

Since when has the weather really been that predictable. Also, is it really necessary to know what the weather is outside, when, you can look for yourself? Apart from the odd tornado approaching, really, there is not much point in being told what the weather is.0

The weather is quite nice if you click "globe" and Zoom out.0
