I took out a loan with quickquid months ago, I sent them an email within the cooling of period to say that I wanted to cancell the loan but they did't it ask'd me to phone them. I did not see anything in the agreement that I had to phonne them to cancell.

I put a block on my debit card and defaulted. They phonned up and I said that I had cancelled the loan but did't care I agreed to pay the loan back by direct debit but they did not take the money from my account.

I made a complaint that they did not resove on the 28/03/11

Since then they have demanded the money back I have made severall offers all of which they refused. Should I contact the FSO? Any help please.

they have now sold the debt on.

Thing is, even though you tried to cancel it, if you received the money then didn't repay them - then I can't see what there is to resolve. Your post is a little difficult to decipher I'm afraid.
  • Payday loan companies like Quickquid dont do direct debits only debit card as its faster, instant and if its not all there they will take 25% or 50% of your money.

So if I have read correctly you took a loan with them, wanted to cancel and didnt follow it up?

They have refused to set up a direct debit, quite rightly so for 1 payment its not worth the hassle.

The debt has been sold on probably with more interest and charges.

What we need to establish is how much the Quickquid loan was for. How much is the outstanding balance now and how much can you pay upfront off the debt now.

Very confusing, so have you spent it or what?

They will have trashed your credit file good and proper by now.

actually quick quid allow you to pay via direct debit, they also allow you to extend the loan period up to 5 times I think,

So why didnt you ring them and pay....
how did you think they could get their money baack if you cancel the debit card... which is the only way the can get the money..

Fact is yes you sent the email, they asked you to call, which ISNT UNREASONABLE.

you then cancelled the debit card. so YOU have defaulted....

    cough up.. lesson learnt.
Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?
  • Most people these days have internet banking. If you don't it's very easy to set up. Why didn't you just ask for their account details and send the money back?

Why are they making "offers"? If you haven't spent the money just send it back to them - you'll just have to find the extra interest now. If you HAVE spent it, why are you complaining?!

Must have been quite an issue for them to have sold the debt on. Madmonkey is right about the opportunity to extend the loan by up to five times, though only a debit card can be used. I had to (for the first and, hopefully, last time) borrow a small amount to see me through to the end of last month and went with QuickQuid. Money received and repaid on schedule but, as others have said, if I ended up not needing the money I'd just have repaid it.

I don't understand what the OP's problem is - they didn't need the money? Repay it! Why go to all this hassle? Unless, of course, the cash has been spent and the OP is looking to avoid repaying it by stitching-up QQ...? Sounds to me like they stuck to their part of the arrangement.
