Got The Best Christmas Present Ever - I Am Debt Free!!!

I just had to log on really quickly and share my news. My wonderful husband gave me the best Christmas present ever today.
He framed a certificate congratulating me on achieving my DEBT FREE DATE on 25th December 2006 and presented me with a cheque to settle my final credit card for £2200.
I was so overwhelmed I was in tears. I only had another 5 months to go to my reach my DFD but this is just a perfect end to the year and I'm looking really forward to 2007 as I intend to build up my savings in the same way I managed to clear the debt.
At the beginning of this year (before discovering MSE) I never thought it possible to pay off what I owed in full anytime soon but I have achieved it and it feels GREAT.:T I actually cringe when I think about how ignorant I was towards my personal finance and how much unneccesary interest I paid over the years before I knew better.
I just want to extend a HUGE thank you to all DFW's for the constant advice, support and encouragement you give to each and everyone on a daily basis. Also Thanks to Martin :money: and the team for this fabulous website. I would not have done it without MSE!!:j
