Mortgage /valuation expiry date

Hello
We're almost ready to exchange and obviously have an expiry date on our mortgage offer.
However someone told me the lenders valuation also has an expiry date that could end before the mortgage offer expiry date.
Is this true or dribble?
Sounds like nonsense to me as far as I'm concerned the survey/valuation would be valid till the mortgage offer is valid till.
Could someone clarify pls?

I think from memory its a 6 mth expiry period ... I could be wrong/it may have changed, and I'm sure if so, I will be corrected

An active mge broker on site will be able to assist.
Hope this helps
