Anyone know what to do here? My son moved into his house 18 months ago. He gets letters for several previous tenannts who he has no forwarding addresses for which he has kept 9 he has quite a pile of them now). Recently he has opened two which were addressed to the Occupier but inside had the name of one of these previous tennants. The lfirst one stated that court proceedings were being started to recoup £150 debt owed to Freemans catalogue. He rang the number on the letter and they refused to discuss it because he wasn't the person concerned. He told them that this person no longer lived at this address . Tha last letter this week atates that the matter has now been passed to the court baliffs. He rang again and received the same answer. What should he do. he cant afford to take legal advice and why should he? but he doesn't want to do nothing. My concern is how this person has managed to use my sons address to order stuff but no parcels have arrived at the house. Where have they been delivered to.?? its worrying him

I had the same problem when I moved into my house. I was advised to register on the voters role. Which I did, I still get the odd letter but I write not known on the back of the envelope and send it back. I even had baylifs to my door, but when you show you are not the person they are looking for they ususally back off. Hope this helps.Waddle you do eh?0

Just return every single piece of post "return to sender". You need not do anything more than this.
If you have anything to the occupier and it states a name in the letter, then seal it back up and send back.
There should be no come back on your son as it is not him or his house which the debt is attributable to. He does not need to seek legal advice.0
