National Institute of Economic and Social Research expects GDP +0.1% in Q2

The UK economy will register almost no growth for the second three months of the year when official data is released later this month, according to the gloomiest of recent forecasts.
The respected National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR) said it expects gross domestic product to have grown by a miserable 0.1 per cent in the second quarter.

No real surprise here! I think that most forecasters will continue to lower their estimates further over the next few weeks, before Q2 GDP figures are released ('Preliminary Estimate Of GDP' figures are due out on the 26th July). I heard that the magician has been put on standby for the next few months and has bought a new top hat, which he got for 50% off in a local closing down sale. He apparently misheard the caller on the phone and thought that he was going to be appearing onboard the QE2! :doh:
