Unwanted xmas present, (microwave), will they exchange it unopened for gift vouchers or something?
SCenario 1 with reciept (any time limit do you think from date of purchase)
Scenario 2 without reciept (This is a Tesco microwave only available from tesco)

I think its now a 30 day limit with Tesco. If you have the receipt they will refund if not they will allow you to "swap" for something else.0

Hi
I returned a faulty microwave recently that had broken after 6 months. I had no reciept but the gave me a refund anyway as it was a Tesco Brand. They did not check what was wrong with it!

Update:
Hi there,
We phoned Dundee this morning they said "no reciept = nothing" A very harsh policy for the time of year and considering it is sealed and "Tesco" branded.
We went to the shop without Microwave and did "a shop" and then asked at CS desk she said it would be ok to give us a credit voucher. We went home brought back microwave, different people on desk, they first Ummed and Arrred, we explained just spoken to someone (described her) who said it would be ok hence we have been home and come back with microwave. Then they agreed to do it.
We then had a little trouble getting this card authorised as it didn't work when we went into the shop to get a further £12 of reduced price shopping. We paid by normal method in the end and they will be looking into why the voucher did not get authorized. We won't be shopping again until January 7th/8th, hopefully it will be all alright by then and/or they will remember us if things are still not working.
So it seems to have all worked out in the end.0
