Unless you can actually go and visit and build up a good relationship with a Far East supplier I would stay well clear.

Anything you can find easily will alrready have been found by many other sellers, and the competition on ebay for cheap imported goods is fierce and the existing sellers will almost certainly price you out of the market. Also if you are thinking of dropshipping, then just don't- it's the easiest way to get suspended on ebay once the low stars for despatch start to kick in.

That only leaves buying stock in bulk to ship yourself and that of course is a whole new issue. You will be looking at spending hundreds if not thousands at a go and could well end up competing with the wholesaler themselves on ebay. There will also be Import duties and handling charges as well.

I am currently buying a line of stock from ebay from several far East sellers, I have a system worked out for getting these goods very cheap and am happy to wait the 25-30 days the stuff takes to arrive on average. As soon as i have the stock I then rephotograph it, write a completely different description and market it differently and can turn a profit back on ebay. The goods are all below the duty threshold when I buy them. At least three sellers are the wholesalers themselves and have offered me a bulk price, and that bulk price per item is more than I am currently buying for on ebay.

I have thought about doing this before, but isnt there something like a £17 limit on what you can get into the country without paying tax on it? so unless the seller was prepared to send you the goods in units so that each one never cost more than that?

But, I have also read they can sometimes group items together if they end up in the post office at the same time. So what do you do to avoid this?

I am very careful and limit my sales to under £18 . Once I hit anywhere near that amount (incuding postage) I switch to a different seller. Then after a few days when my original goods have been shipped i go back to original seller again.

I sometimes have to stop buying though as I trigger some automatic programme that increases the item price as it believes there is a high demand. I leave it for a while, wait fo rth eprice to drop again and then go back and start buying.

I just included my friend's store link in the post. But it does seem like a spam which is actually NOT :(. I think the china sourcing forum will help.

Thanks that makes sense to do. I guess the main thing then is to find a product like you have, which you can sell for more than you paid!
