Thanks for that Fermi, I did wonder what the point was of having the option of cancelling if they could just re-instate it!
As far as Im aware with other stuff such as car insurance policies etc ,when you pay them via D/D its still like a credit agreement that just simply invalidates it if you cancel,so if that was the case of people being able to re-instate then surely absolutely anyone would and then that would leave it open to fraud etc,if you can understand my ramblings there!
Well I have cancelled it,and I shall write my letter to the DCA this w/e.
Thanks again for your advice0 -
Hello again,
An update ......
Today I received an 'Instalment default notice'..........I assume this is in response to my letter the other day as the payment has technically not been missed yet as it is only due now and this was sent to me 3 days ago.....Im assuming the bank has told them I have cancelled the D/D as according to the date of the letter mine hadn't got there then,if you know what I mean?
Anyway it says ......
"Our records indicate that you have broken the agreed instalment arrangement. In these circumstances the full balance of £(under 5k) is now due and payable.
Please contact this office immediately on 0843.............. to avoid legal action being taken.
If you believe that you have maintained your instalment arrangement please contact this office on (same no.) and provide full details of the payments you have made.
So,is this my reply do you think? They appear to have kept the postal order I sent too as I've heard nothing else,or is it likely that this was sent automatically because I cancelled it last week?
Thanks0
