He easily changed supplier with no questions asked and the £400 owed was negotiated down to a full and final of £90.
How does that work? Surely, you have to pay back what you owe (to the original creditor), I know it's different with collection agencies who buy the debt for much less. How would I go about "negotiating"?
Thank you for the advice, everyone. I will phone BG tomorrow morning and try to sort this out.0 -

That's what I've been getting at. Do Allied own that particular debt?Happiness, is a Kebab called Doner.....:heart2::heart2:0 -
thechippy,
I am not sure now. When I originally told BG I couldn't pay in one go and offered a payment plan, they said they couldn't do anything as the debt had been passed on to Allied. So far so clear. But yesterday#s "we were here" card was from BG!0 -
Right, just an update with some actual results!
I phoned BG this morning who told me that the arrears have come back to them (from Allied) and they are not sure why! Apparently "it just happens, sometimes", according to Ms Call Operator in India. Changing their tune, BG have now accepted a payment plan at £60 per month and I'm happy with that.
Thank you everyone for your sound advice!0 -
