Tinned tuna in brine

Options
Does anyone know of any where that has decent tinned tuna in brine on special offer? Had a look on mysupermarket and cheapest was own supermarket brand 4 x 185g tins for £3.50. I don't know but I really struggle to pay almot 80p for a can when I don't think that long ago you could get a can for 45p.

Thanks for your suggestions.

I bought 4 cans in Home Bargains for just under £3 the week before last so they might still have it.

So-called 'value' tuna is back down to 45p a can in both ASDA and Tesco. Personally I think it's exactly the same tuna as you get in both own brand and branded cans, only with a different label. But opinions may well differ.

Yep, 45p in Tesco, I bought some today.

The nicest one I have ever had is the Morrisons Tuna Steak but it's about 85p a can.

It does come up on offer though at half price so I like to stock up then.

I didn't think there was much difference until I tried this one.

However, if you are going to mix it with salad cream, mayo etc the value one is fine.

The value stuff I've tried has always been teeny weeny flakes, and tastes awful. But you can take it from a higher authority than me - the cat won't touch it

The Value chunks are nice and good value at 45p, but the cheaper flakes are not so good, a bit mushy.

I have tried Sainsburys Basics, Tesco Value and Asda Smartprice tinned tuna. Asda's looked like mush. Sainsburys was nice and meaty.

I had Waitrose Essentials tuna last week and couldn't believe how tasteless it was.

Iceland are doing 4 cans of Princes Tuna chunks in brine for £3.

Must admit I've never found cheap tuna that's chunks not flakes AKA mush, though if I were to try anywhere it would be Sainsbury's as some of their basics items are way nicer than the other supermarkets (especially chocolate - I know as hubby is a chocoholic)!

I have always found Home Bargains to be the cheapest place to buy tinned tuna. I last stocked up two weeks ago and then a pack of 4 tins of Princes tuna chunks in brine was £2.39. (I know grocery prices are going up almost weekly so it could be they are a little more than that now but worth a look)

I have also noted that tuna has gone up in price but am wondering if it because they have changed the way they catch it as hter has been some pressure on companies to use more ethical ways.We recently bout somein poundland 3 for a pound
