No candles allowed at venue - any ideas on some alternatives?

Hiya, the venue we're about to book doesn't let you have candles due to it being a listed building and insurance reasons. I was planning on candelabra's in the centre of tables but going to have to rethink.
Also liked the idea of tealights....someone suggested the battery operated ones - has anyone tried these? Are they any good??
Thanks for all your help,
Becki

We did and they were great, they even flicker a little bit. We bought ours from poundland, £1 for 4 and includes batteries!

Thanks guys!! 0 -
Our venue didnt allow candles, but the centrepieces they supplied where candelabras complete with candlesticks. The venue said that as its day time reception people dont usually think to light them. If you're using the same at the night time you could just remove the candles to remove the temptation.:jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j0

Candles can sometimes be used if they are enclosed by glass.
Check with your venue.

£5.99 for 3 - I dont know what stock levels would be like though. I saw some battery operated votive candles yesterday in B&M Bargains- four for £2.99-that is if you have a B&M nearby. hthlovin' this site!

I am in the same boat, and we have got the battery operated ones. They are fab, they flicker and look realistic (some more than others). I got mine from Costco - not sure if they still have them but I think they were 24 for £11ish.0
