Any advice welcome - endowment and pension

I have an endowment coming out; the mortgage to which it was assigned was paid of some time ago.
I have another mortgage on a buy to let and have been considering paying part of that off but
would I be better off puting the money in my pension plan and taking the government tax relief. I am 61 and will be drawing on some of the pension funds within 5 years and could take this back as a lump sum???
Any thoughts
