Making money from Chickens

Options
Hi Guys

There is probably no-one on here that knows the answer.

I have 4 chickens and 1 cockerel and im making about £1 for every 6 eggs im selling. Which is ok.

Ive seen on a few news articles that you can turn the chicken poop into electricity which can be fed back into the network. Im just throwing it away at the moment and dont want to plaster it around my garden for the plants as the smell will be bad.

Ive seen big machines that do this but is there anything like a water butt size that will enable me to do this. Im just trying to think of new ways I can save money. Maybe there is a niche market for this kind of idea for people who have a small number of chickens.

any feedback is welcome.

think you will need a few more chickens to be able to produce energy from the poo;)

Like they say at Tesco`s. Every little helps. I just thought instead of throwing it away make use of it. Somehow :)

you could use it to make a liquid feed for your plants..

put in on to your compost heap...

or maybe keep it all in sacks including the hay/straw bedding etc, and then maybe you could swop it with a local gardener for a few veggies etc

    Just a thought..
