Dilema please help need to make decision by the morning

Hi All,

Need help asap. I had two interviews this week one for a temp role which I excepted. Then had an interview for a role for a years contract. I turned down the 2nd role as I am looking at other roles which is where my heart lies.

The job I really want has offered me an interview on the 18th July and I would drop everything for this role.

The agency came back about the 2nd role and said they have up the offer of pay by £2000 a year and would be permenant instead of a year.

My dilema is the role I really want i've got an interview for and I would then leave the 2nd role a couple of weeks into starting and I don't want to let people down i'm not into starting roles and then dumping them after a couple of weeks.

What should I do stick with the temp role and go to interview on 18th or take the 2nd role and still go to the job interview.

The 2nd role isn't really what I want to do but I have found it so tempting that someone would want me that much they are willing to offer more money.

I know money isn't everything help

  • Am I right in thinking this is about 3 roles? A temp role, one that was 1 year that now's gone perm with more money and a third one for which you have an interview? sorry if I haven't got that right but I'm a bit confuddled.

I think which of the two roles you take only you can make that decision as you'll be the one to live with whichever you'd let down if the third one comes through. Either way, I'd go for the interview as it's just an interview and may or may not go to offer stage.

    HTH!

There is nothing to say that you will even get the first (preferred) job after the interview on the 18th. What if you turn down this job and then don't get that one either? A bird in the hand and all that.

Don't ever turn down one job until you have a firm offer of another in writing.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.
