How long until credit score improves?

My goal for the future is to have a good credit rating! I have a default that will 'fall off' in Sept 2007 and would like to be eligible for a better mortgage deal when my current fixed rate deal runs out in 3 years. I have no outstanding debt (besides the mortgage) as I became debt free this year!!!:beer: :beer: :beer: :beer: :beer:

My question is, will the default 'fall off' automatically or do I need to do something to ensure it does? Also, how long will it take before I become normal???? I don't want credit again but I just want the satisfaction of knowing I have a clean sheet so to speak! (Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this query btw)

Yes it drops off automatically and you are clean after that.

However, please do not go back to being normal. You should keep on being an MSE'er, which is better than normal. :A
