Venture photography in watford refused viewing of photos because my wife was not ther

I have recently had a photo session with in June 2011 with Venture Photography in Watford which went really well, I think they managed to get some very good shots of my 2 little boys, a 4 year old and a 2mth old. We made a special effort to go in that day as it is difficult for my wife who had a C-section with 2 month old, and I had to take some time off work. Anyway we arranged to view the photos a couple weeks later. I turned up to view the photos having taken a half day off work, while my wife was not feeling too well and looking after the baby being up all night. I arrived only to be told by Frank that I could not view the photos because both my wife has to be here as well. This is the first time I heard of this and I explained to them that given our situation this is unreasonable. They explained that this was the condition of the photo shoot (which they could not show anywhere in there literature) and that we both need to be thee r to decide on photos. I assured them that this was not necessary and that I was fully capable of deciding on my own. They refused and said that we could re-arrange another date so that we are both there. I almost lost it this point as I had taken time off work and there is no way I can get further time off work, furthermore it was not possible to guarantee both of us being there because of the baby.

Anyway to cut a long story short I got the head office number and asked to speak to CEO, but they pawned me off to customer services, who were very apologetic but to this day (it's been 4 weeks since the actual photo shoot!)have not managed to resolve the matter.

Disgusting!!

Has anyone else had similar problems with Venture Watford who are acting like double glazing companies?

We had photos with them in Fareham and they told us at the time of shooting that we both had to be there to look at the pictures, but that doesn't help you though.
They tried to pressure us into lots more pictures, but hubby stood firm and we just got the free one, its so easy to go over the top buying them, have a budget in mind and stick to it.
Mind you, I really wasn't impressed with their pictures, I've taken much better ones myself at home. My tip for pictures of young siblings is put a white sheet on your bed, rest a cot matress against the wall and cover that with another white sheet and arrange scatter cushions around with another white sheet or two. Invest in some cheap satin from ebay and take new pictures every few months. Looks just like a professional photo shoot and you can take all day over it if need be, use all your favourite props and use a timer for a relaxed family sprawled shot.
Totaly off thread, but thought I'd share :-)

I think that is their usual practice  It is so they can give you the hard sell & you cant use the excuse of "im not sure I will need to talk to the OH first" & then don't go back.

I have seen lots of threads on mumsnet & on here about them.

Maybe worth you doing a search on both forums & seeing how things were resolved (if) for others.

ARGGGHHHH! Venture are the devil and to think i nearly sold my soul to them ( instead i sold it to the cheapest sport shop in the UK!!

why do people not learn from others mistakes?! Venture itself is NOTORIOUS for this, do not buy a thing from them and find a local photograph who will charge you a £100 for a photoshoot and then extra for prints you will get the same maybe even better photo's you would have got from venture as well as no hard sale and no pressure.

If you live in the south east pm and I'll recommend someone who is really talented and won't rip you off!
