Alliance and leicester merging?

I currently bank with Alliance and leicester, and i wanted to claim back all my unfair charges.But a friend told me they are merging and i could possibly get money from this.I just wanted to see if anyone else knew more info cant find anything on the internet.Dont want to close my account and miss out

Miss out on what? Alliance and Leicester is already a bank, not a building society so you're not a shareholder - there won't be any more 'windfalls'.

Well, you'd need to be a shareholder in the building society to get a windfall. Personally, I'd get on with claiming back your charges.

Even if there were a potential windfall in the offing, how would claiming back charges affect you?

You would still be a customer and still entitled to a windfall regardless of any outstanding or settled dispute.

It is all rather academic anyway as there are no windfalls likely with A&L. You should invest in some of the few remaining windfall possibilities.
