Mortgage for foreign nationals

me too an indian national working in IT sector since nov 2002 in UK. I got my mortgage from HSBC in Oct 2004. As other posters said you should'nt have any problems to get mortgage with most of the banks, assuming you have a decent credit rating & no other (big) loans.
If your income is £40k and looking for £114k, it should be easy walk over as i earns the same and got £180k from HSBC.
Also if you have repayment power and not a good credit rating, you could consider self certified mortgage (thanks to MSE for the idea) as well, you may not get best deal but you will get a mortgage.
btw, hope you know that HO has included life in the uk test, included for the eligibility criteria for ILR (permanent residency)0
