HELP HELP HELP PLEASE Tax!!!

My partner got paid £5990 but tax deductions were rediculas

AFTER TAX DEDUCTIONS

C TAX PAID 1003.20
R CO; PAYMENT 400.36
R CO; PAYMENT 400.36-
R CO; PAYMENT 1138.53
C CO; PAYMENT 200.00
C EMPLOYEES NIC 385.91

Please help we have no idea what these co payments are any ideas ?

    yes, more info required. for paye calculation you also need to state:

    the tax code operated (you need to check your code is correct also..), the week/month you have been paid for, the total TAXABLE pay and tax paid to date (or if on a week1/month1 code the figures for "pay in this employment"). These should all be on your payslip. Payroll should be able to run through this with you. They make the deductions and pass on to HMRC.

  • What makes you think they are tax? Do you get / pay for anything else via payroll e.g. healthcare allowance, company car allowance, share plans etc?

    My payslip has about 16 entries on it and it is always hell to decode!
    Thinking critically since 1996....
