Cashloanservices . co. uk rang me, i didnt contact them ( apparantly i applied for a credit card a few months ago) - they said i have been accepted for a loan, i asked all the questions..... do i pay any upfront costs, does the apr stay the same for the duration of the loan - i told him i wanted to see the contract before i agreed to nething...

He has sent the contract thru email and it all looks okay until it says..... i need to pay the first monthly installment straight away, before i sign the contract and then the next repayment day will be in Sep 11.....

Does that sound normal or would you be cautious, the chap is ringing back soon - this loan would really help but as you can imagine, i didnt apply for it - he rang me and he wants the first installment before i sign the contract....

Advice would be appreciated x

You are considering paying a repayment on a loan that you haven't asked for before you see an agreement or receive the money? Surely your post answers your question? I wouldn't be cautious I'd be running for the hills.

Please don't do it. It sounds dodgy as hell.

If you didnt apply for it then surely you could manage without it??

You should never pay anything without signing a contract. They could just keep your money and refuse you a loan. Probably the upfront payment will turn out to be some kind of admin / application fee and you will not be guaranteed a loan at all.

Plus they can't have approved you without your permission to perform a credit check.

Sounds like the Indian loan scam.

Pay first by Western Union, then another Western Union Transfer for "Taxes", then another for "Release Fees", then another for "immediate transfer" and a whole load more until the penny drops it is a scam.

They rang you out of the blue...... people do this to scam you, not to save you.
