Canvas Prints HALF PRICE Tescophoto

Tescophoto
I wanted fast colour prints & based on their website quoting 1-hr collection in store went for it - used some free print allowance & others were larger so paid - £52 in total - not canvas or anything fancy just small & larger prints I needed for a court case that starts on Monday (long story - thought with Tesco at least I could guarantee quality etc - having tried to print from local library & the test prints being a mess). Nine hours later & had to pay to park & then walk - a good way to the designated branch to discover that the website info was wrong & they had not done any printing for YEARS, to add insult to injury the store opening times advised were wrong & they had no record of my order. Phoning Tescophoto the next day was very frustrating, explained the urgent nature of my order & that if this wasn't forthcoming to just cancel the order to which he replied, `do you want me to help you or not?' also said `the system isn't working properly' he `couldn't find my order online - despite me quoting the number that I was quoted in an email from them' & that it would take 7 days as well as he had no idea why I was directed to that store..... Several conversations later I was promised a call back - nothing. I have emailed & received a `computer generated holding response' Conclusion - I will not use them again and I am still £52 short & thankfully a local internet cafe printed the photos I wanted for £15. Any ideas how I can get my money back now from them (he even said it was too late to cancel the order - I said fine - as is not as advertised I want to do as a `return' & not collect it & he said `he would see what he could do!'0 -
I have posted this on the codes board but thought I would post here too:
Just had an email through with some codes off for the photo/gift service.
They can be used on the canvas' which are all on half price now anyway.
Doesnt say its single use so if it is my apologies.
Offer ends 17th July.

Everything will be ok in the end, and if it isn't ok then it isn't the end

Thank goodness for Facebook - finally a way to shame companies into a response! After posting on there I got a response & (they say - I haven't checked my account yet) a refund.
Tesco - Jack of all Trades = Master of none.0 -

Have received an email from Cheif Exec's office saying they are sorry & are sending the prints free now (pointless as the court case has now finished). No reference to the incorrect info being rectified online however - regarding expected timescales of prints, store opening hours or contact details. Will not use again.0 -
Half Price Canvas is back at Tesco Photo

Recently got my half price canvas print back and was very disappointed. My grand daughter was dressed as a pumpkin but the orange was pale and washed out and even the green was paler. I complained and asked them to re-print it with proper colour tones. Phone call today said the original had too high an ISO setting and that was why the print has paler tones. The background was too dark. Apparently the printers will not do any adjustment and will just print as is. Printing onto canvas comes out differently from onto paper he said. If you don't like it tough because it is a special order. They have offered to reprint but say it will be just the same.
I thought the whole point of digital was that you could manipulate images to get the best possible print. My colour prints of this picture are great. So I am not impressed. The caller was trying to be helpful but could not address the problem of the printing company's unwillingness to tweak images where necessary. He said that if they did it would double the time to produce the prints. Most image manipulation programmes do a one click improvement.
So be warned, you may get a picture which is a shadow of its former self. And there is no redress. If I had had to pay double the price I would have been more than doubly annoyed.0 -
lytefantastic, I can see what you're saying but I understand the point of the printers. Yes, it's easy to manipulate a photo and can be done quite quickly but how are they to know exactly what your picture should look like? That plus the fact that they probably do hundreds (if not thousands) a day so doubling the time for all of these would be immense. I would assume that it's probably an automated process anyway, most printing is these days. Add in the fact that (as it's Tesco) the printer more than likely gets paid a pitance, I can understand their reluctance to tinker.0
