Hello, this is my first post on this forum here so please be gentle.
I have credit card debt with EGG which was passed on to CD-UK and then passed on to ARC (?!). I had agreed a token monthly payment with ARC - which I have honoured but missed June's payment due to an oversight on my part.
Today I have received a rather scary letter from the infamous TREVOR MUNN threatening to prepare a County Court Claim unless I pay the debt in full or make a substantial payment. I'm guessing this letter is a fairly standard template from what I've been reading on the forums.
Clearly I'm not in a position to make any substantial payment other than the token payment I agreed with ARC.
What's my next step? I gather Trevor Munn isn't the kindest of souls
I was advised to move this from the "Credit Card" forum because I revealed a little too much personal information for some peoples' taste (to each his/her own I guess). I have removed the 'offending' details in this post.
All I am asking for is plain and simple advice.

            Hi
i would reply to state you are not in a position to pay the debt in full, your circumstances have not changed and can only afford to continue to make payments of X per month (whatever you were paying ARC). If you can afford to you could also offer the missed June payment.
Hopefully he should accept this. If they did go to court then you would need to ask to pay in installments and provide the court with evidence as to how much you can afford and the judge should set a monthly repayment that you can afford.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0

Wow Thank you for taking the time to reply without judgement / disdain. Thank you for taking the time to reply without judgement / disdain.
I have taken your advice and mailed my letter to Trevor Munn. I guess the only thing to do now is wait. Will post the outcome as soon as I hear anything.
I've never been threatened with a CCJ in my life and the mere thought of it makes me feel sick.
Thank You once again. Your advice is very much appreciated.0

To be honest a CCJ won't make much difference to your credit rating and may actually be to your advantage, is the court will decide what you can afford not a debt collection agency0

Received a letter today from ARC (dated March 8th !?) basically saying that I can continue to pay my monthly agreed amount. So I'm quite happy with the result - for now
Thanks again to everyone for their advice.0
