Fill up with water. Load veg in. Switch on. When veg are done (depends on veg) switch off and serve.
Sprouts 15 mins
Broccoli 10-15 mins
Carrots 10 minsTL0 -

Steamers are great. Here's some approx cooking times for mine:
Carrots 10min
Frozen Peas 25min
Fresh Peas 20min
Old potatoes 25 min
New potatoes 35min
Mushrooms 11min
I've had a go at steaming most vegetables and if you allow 15-25min they seem to come out OK. They taste really good too.Happy chappy0 -
Mine takes a little longer, potatoes are around 50mins, carrots, green beans, cabbage and other veg 20 mins. Sprouts are around 40 mins, but we do like them soggyish lol.
Mine is old, so maybe that's why it takes a little longer.:hello:0 -
The slide-out tray is so you can refill the water without taking the top bit off.0
