i cant help really because im not from the area- but i think you would be very lucky not to have corkage to be honest!

Sorry i dont live there so cant suggest anywhere either.

Your best bet would probably be to look at places where you need to provide your own bar such as village halls. Social clubs may also have low corkage rates. Beware that some of these places may require you to provide your own catering too, particularly if weddings are not something they usually do.

Traditional wedding venues, hotels etc will most likely charge a corkage rate that means its a similar price to buy direct from them than go to the hassle of arranging your own.

I have found quite a few venues now... hylands house in chelmsford is stunning and corkage free....! yay!! There seems to be loads of barns that have no corkage aswell.... did find a venue with £17 per bottle corkage..... hilarious!

Thanks for the replies ladies! x
  • Big vote here for Hylands House - although I am a little biased as I am getting married there in less than 2 weeks! The venue is stunning and the people who work there are really friendly and helpful.

    Hi

Have never been to a wedding there - but Hylands House is stunning and a lovely place for photos. :)

has anyone heard of Redbrick Barn in Rochford? You literally just hire the barn.... we have found a caterer called 'Dineinstyle' as well.... any reviews on them would be great :-) xx
