As you may or not be aware MSE has a deal with FairFX to give a free card if you top up a min of £50.

Obviously Ryanair do not fly from Northern Ireland anymore so Dublin is the closest option.

When getting one of these cards I assume it is best to load it with Euros rather than £50 ?

Fairfx cards are in euro or US dollars. There is a new £card but costs to use it are more
than the euro card, so go for it for Ryanair. Good comparisons on this site on prepaid card charges

Another word of advice, if you buy in either Euro or Sterling and then buy in the other currency......DO NOT....I repeat....DO NOT use the Ryanair conversion rate on site, per every £50 spent you loose another couple of quid!

Your right but I was thinking more non-UK destinations. Dublin is closer to me than Derry as well.

They do but on their website City Of Derry Airport is listed under Ireland not U.K.!!

  • I have a Caxton FX prepay mastercard, can get both a euro and stirling one, use it for booking ryanair flights from dublin, its great saves on the card fee, they charge £2.50 for the transaction but beats paying £10 per person for flights. Check out their website. Probably much the same as Fairfx but just another option.
