Question - Tesco £5 off £50 - use on diesel

I have several of the Tesco's '£5 off when you spend more than £50' vouchers. The 'Offer Excludes' section specifically says 'petrol' not 'petrol station' or 'diesel'. Has anyone tried or successfully managed to use one of these vouchers when buying diesel?

Think you have to use them in store only, I had one refused at the petrol station when they used to only say "excludes esso petrol".0
