When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Hello there my lovelies :hello:

Hope we are all having fab DFW days!

Thanks for all your congrats to OH about his new job - so chuffed! :) Exactly the type of job he's been looking for, will suit him so well and a handy £11k payrise! :j

My small things:
  • Did an amended SOA :D
  • Bought OH a congratulations card with £1 I found on the ground ;)
  • Got the champers chilling in the fridge - maybe for tonight
  • Didn't buy the champers especially btw - it's been on the shelf since our wedding last year :money:
  • Used 1 teabag for 2 cups
  • Brekkie at home
  • Can I find something for lunch in the cupboard??
  • Using cheapo own-brand moisturiser - quite like it though
  • Tidying round tonight - keep me outta trouble!
  • Email and not call friends
  • Look into hire car options for our holibobs - going back up to Scotland at the end of the month - friend's 30th, other friend's wedding, bit of camping, bit of visiting family and some other friends... exciting times :)
Could I ask you wonderful peeps some advice please?? My friend from school and I always send each other a £10 gift voucher on our bdays...Hers is next week. The thing is that we've both got other committments now, she's just had a baby, don't really see each other etc and kinda feels like we just do it out of habit :o. It's her 30th next week so would be ideal time to say "shall we just stop this when we're 30?!" but don't really know how to phrase it... I'm sure she's thinking the same thing...

Morning La E and the rest of you who follow;)

Big congrats to your OH about his job...what a relief for you:D
Not sure how to phrase it with regard to your friend and the bday money - could you just send a very small token gift instead so she will know that the £10 card has finished??!

Anyway, no work for me - I woke up thinking it was Thursday so was a lovely treat remembering it was Wed and no work:T
Just off to do some Tesco shopping and need to get more essay done...it's been half done for over a week:o

    List time:
    • check banking
    • check onepoll - this has gone sooo rubbish, hardly any surveys - typical as I'm on £36:mad:
    • meal from plan tonight - use leftover bol sauce to make chilli
    • small shop from Tesco
    • packed lunch for dd2 to school
    • write essay
    • buy petrol at T's with 5p of a litre voucher
    • order sis a new home pressie from Next
    • meter readings - and enter online
    Ok, that'll do me - have a fab day:T
I really need to sort out a new signature!

Well, I am going to see Take That tonight, which is my Xmas present from my mum. Not really feeling it, as I got dumped by my boyfriend on Monday and have been ill since then. :( But, DFW things today:

    • Check into youth hostel rather than hotel, it's just for one night and I am so tired at the moment I'll sleep anywhere.
    • Use my railcard to get to London.
    • Eat lunch before I go and have a cheap supper.
    • Take a book to read in a London park tomorrow.
    • Try and cheer up a bit. :(

    Morning all lovely peeps!

Thanks to La E for starting us off. Enjoy TT southernbelle, I thought it was a good show. Sorry to hear about boy troubles but hopefully TT will manage to take your mind off it. Hope you have a good day off Pixie.

 Woo hoo everyone its hump day!

I have to say that this week is not dragging as much as I thought it would be. Still not heard from the people re. the job but they did say end of the week, so will just have to wait.

    Today I will:
    • Check bank balances
    • Check surveys
    • Go to council office to see what the state of play is with this month's payment of council tax is
    • Open a new savings account to start taking small sums off every week for PAD
    • Leftovers for lunch
    • Storecupboard dinner
    • Pack up the bathroom stuff
    • Go through fridge and freezer - as this will need to be defrosted at the weekend
    • Clean the kitchen cupboards
    • Pack up the food I know I won't need before leaving

As you can see, lots of cleaning and packing for me. As its 5 days until I move back with DH. :D

    Have a great day.
    xx
