I read a few months ago in a Guardian money supplement about some website that matched people making car journeys with people who had stuff to be delivered. I can't for the life of me remember the name of the site, can someone please help me?

I suppose the problem with that sort of thing is that you would probably be responsible for the goods in your care whilst you were transporting them? Insurance could be a problem.

As hobbyman says, you will no longer be able to use private motor insurance for your vehicle if you are intending to do this as it excludes the use of the vehicle for hire or reward. Courier insurance is inevitably going to be more expensive so you would be sensible to do a few quotes before hand just to get an idea of how much extra you will have to earn to simply break even when you consider the fuel. depreciation to the vehicle and extra insurance cost.0
