Its only companies that actually supply a person/company/entity with credit that are FSA, Financial Ombudsman, etc regulated.
Sorry for the bad news but i personally think its shocking that credit reference agencies can get away without being regulated in the slightest.
They may not be regulated but they do have to comply with the DPA which requires the data they keep to be accurate. Use this route if you are having trouble getting details corrected.
PS your solicitor should have known this.0 -
WAHEY!!! Success! After logging onto Experian yesterday, my credit report was finally showing this as settled (however, only settled on 20/06/2011) which bumped my score from 434 to 622. Logged on again this morning to find that it has been backdated to 14th November 2008, and my score is now 736. So ok, I may not be sat here with a 999 score, but its a frightening thought that just one entry not been accurate can have such a damaging effect on my score! It has pushed my from "very poor" to "fair" though!
I'm not sure what did it - the emails and letters to Creation, or Experian investigating it and resolving it on my behalf...but either way, all sorted.
Just like to say a big thank you to everyone who steered me in the right direction with this. Next step - getting and old agreement with Barclaycard settled off! Have a great weekend everyone!! :beer:0 -

Are you STILL wasting money on your score? That is YOUR money you're throwing away just to look at a random number which nobody else gives a hoot about.
The real issue is the status 6• Agreed repayments are more than three months behind but you have agreed new repayments with the lender to bring the account in order.
Those entries are the only thing you should be concerned about, not the random number generator.
The only SCORE you should be bothered about is one from an Institution you are applying for credit from, but you will NEVER obtain that.
Good news that you have had some success in removing the incorrect 6's, it means you are unlikely to obtain credit until Nov 2014 instead of Nov 2017.0 -
they get it included in the new £14 service, I called to cancel and they put me on the £7 plan without the crappy scoreDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
