5 year employment history

hi all, i have been a student for the last 5 years and worked in the family run business, coveniance store full time also for 10 years, and have never had another job.
i have recently applied to dx secure which is a courier job, and they require a 5 year work history. In my time working for the family i never took a set wage and have no p45 or p60.
This is a vetted job and they require proof of history. i did not tell them i was studying in case i decide to return to university and do not want them to think it is temporary.
what can i do? i would really want this job.

If you are paid, your parents should have been paying taxes (via PAYE) or you should have been declaring as self-employed and so paying tax. Then you would have the documents to prove your work history.
I do not understand your reasoning on not admitting to a university education. You should have declared that, as it would have probably sorted out all your problems. Not a good start for an employer when their potential employee is lying over something that doesn't matter.
I would forget about the job for now and work out how much tax you owe, getting done for tax evasion is a much more serious issue.Save £200 a month : [STRIKE]Oct[/STRIKE] Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr0 -

Its not looking good really is it? You're applying for a post which involves trust and you've lied and now have no proof to back up whatever yarn you've spun.
This is called shooting one self in ones foot. No matter which way this goes you look untrustworthy either because you lied about being a student or you evaded tax by you or your family not registering your income from employment. I would go look for another job and be more honest next time.0 -
Forgot about the job because if you have no proof of what you have put on your CV then they will decline the job offer anyway.
Always be honest in your applications then you will have nothing to worry about.0 -
Depends what they mean by 'proof of work history', surely?
If a letter stating "millhouse has worked in the family business for the last 10 years" will do the job, you're away.
Although I agree with other posters: you haven't been honest, this is the fallout!Signature removed for peace of mind0
