The Mourne Seafood in Belfast is very tasty but not cheap. So no point being on the MSE board!

Mourne seafood is very good but I don't know if it would be wasted on kids? Although they do have a kids menu so maybe good if your kids like fish too. You normally have to book for dinner, but it's first come first served at lunch. Also the Quays in protaferry is excellent, but not in that area.

for lunch deanes seafood is brilliant. they do a lunch for 6.50. the evening prices shoot up but thought i would recommend it anyway for other seafood lovers. its beside the main deanes in belfast. you can't be bad to a 6.50 lunch at deanes esp when a panini nearly costs as much! i paid 13 i think for my last lunch at deanes and that included a bread and tapenade starter and a glass of pinot grigio. the chowder was divine.

But mumblub asked for *good* seafood restaurants. I think that Mourne Seafood is a perfect recommendation as it offers good value for money i.e. tasty food at decent (imho) prices. And that is surely a very MSE way of thinking! :)

Are there any actual *cheap* seafood restaurants in Belfast anyway? I suppose there's always the Filet-o-Fish in McDonalds lol (do they still do that?).

BTW, mumblub, there is also Tedfords - the food is to die for (but it is really dear) :D!!! http://tedfordsrestaurant.com/ I've only been a couple of times - it's more of a 'special occasion' choice - but I love the monkfish, nom nom.

OMG, just had to look at the menu and am totally salivating now!

    Our specialities include:

Curry Roast Monkfish, coconut rice, stir fry Pak Choy, tiger prawn wontons, curry oil - my favourite!!!
Pan Roast Turbot & Scallops, crab crushed new potatoes, buttered asparagus, Hollandaise
Grilled Sea Bass, pasta, chorizo, tomato & shellfish butter, tempura of beans, basil bubbles
