Hi,
I am selling my old laptop on gumtree which costs about £350. There are a lot of scammers on there so I have to be careful. I accept cash on collection and bank transfer only to prevent the scammers.
However, there is a person from Italy who is very interested to buy my laptop. I don't know how can she know gumtree. Not sure if this is scam or not.
She is asking me for full bank details. Not only bank sort code and account number. She is asking for my bank name, bank address, bank country, bank sort code and back account number.
I understand that when you transfer money to another country you need full bank details since I used to transfer my money to my brother in Asian before. But I don't know if this case is a scam?
Can she do anything with all of my bank details? e.g. direct debit something from my account. Because with those bank account details you can do direct debit from the account, am I right?
Should I trust this person and give her my bank details?
Oh, by the way, the bank account I am talking about is the new bank account that I open last month with RBS and no money in the account. But is it still safe to give her this bank account details?

Have you looked at a cheque recently? All this information is on a little piece of paper people hand out to anyone that asks for money! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0
