Hey new here and just lookign for some advice as the jobcentre havent phoned back yet. Been on JSA for about a month and been applying for any job that comes up, but been talking to a few of my mates who said doing a lifeguard course may be a good idea for summer coming up and stuff, I was just wondering if i could get help with paying for the course, or would i have to pay for it myself. Just looking for some advice.

Have you had that promised call back yet? Most likely, you won't get anything. The only thing that might help you is a discretionary (it's up to the JCP) fund but that itself is strictly for when you start work and need some help to get started or for job interviews. The Learning & Skills Council may fund it somehow through existing courses but that again is very unlikely (unless your local area is in short supply of lifeguards).

You might be able to get a budgeting loan which falls under the social fund system or whatever it's called. I know many friends who used it for their security licenses although as it's a loan, you do have to pay it back but there's no interest like normal loans.
