Tesco Bank Loans

A bit of a rant this but I want some advise on if I have any comeback or complaint to a Ombudsman or something..

I currently have a Tesco Loan a nominal amount that I want to increase the value of so I can purchase a car, The current loan is nearly finished and I have never missed any payments on it, so I thought I could eaisly adjust the loan amount as stated on their website.

Firstly, this was something I couldnt do online I had to speak to them...

Now I started this appliation back on the 7th of June and since then it has taken them 2 weeks to request a statement from me which I sent back straight away and they recieved on the 29th of June. I was assured on the 27th that a decision would happen by the 29th, the 29th arrived, and nothing happened. i called them to be told that they had not made a decision yet and they didnt know what was happening with the application process. The person basically said I had to call back daily to find out what was going on.

It is now the 5th and I am still calling back daily, and nobody seems to have a clue as to what is going on. Yesterday they said a Manager would call be back that day to discuss my application, which didnt happen, Today I called at 9am stating this and they said that I would be escalted again to a Manager callback and be marked "Urgent".. (LOL) Its now 3pm and still no callback..

What options do I have? from what I understand if I cancell the whole process now (which I am tempted) It would be harder to find another loan as I would have had a recent search on my credit file..

Arrgh!! Tesco are driving me up the wall.. Should it take this long for get a Loan Decision??:mad:

is there any reason why you would not be approved and why there would be a hold up?

Employed, no bad debt, good history, 50% or less of total salary?

Nope, but anyways been approved now, been over a week waiting for funds tho! lol. I call them at 9am today and they said someone will call me back asap, so I guess I will be calling them again at midday.

It has taken well over a month now for the whole process from Application to (Funds arriving?)

Service - useless! i cant say I would reccomend them to anyone

Apparently its something to do with their botched migration onto their new systems thats been so widespread in the press. Everytime I call they dont seem to have a clue whats happening.

It was for a car purchase, but that car has now been sold.. grrrrr so Im gonna have the money (sometime) and have to find another car!

At no stage have they apologised or offered compensation which is annoying..

Guess you've had bad luck, I've spoken with the twice and they've been fine, everything sorted out that day, paperwork follows and bob's your uncle.

    Latest..

Just spoken to them and they have a major fault with their systems and they cannot send Any payments for new loans out to customers automatically. Each one is having to be done manually by a manager (It just gets better!) The reason they gave me, is they cannot tell from their systems if a automatic payment has been made successfully, so each transfer is being done manually. I asked if there was a problem with my account details (which are correct) and they assured me that was not the fault it was just their system broken.

They cannot give me a date as to when I will recieve my money, they cannot even tell me when the payment will be made.

So I am in limbo land and Meanwhile they will continue to take payments for the loan out of my account even though I havnt recieved the money!!!!!

A complaint has been logged dont worry! And someone from Customer Care is going to call me back in 3 to 5 days..:mad:

Apparently they have been (understandably) inundated with complaints.

Tesco is experiencing huge problems the last couple of weeks, everytime I call them I can't make a payment because the system is down. They haven't logged £1350 overpayment from me 2 weeks ago because they can't see it in their system but I got the letter saying I made the overpayment and it went out of my bank account. I'm getting fed up with them, it's been going on for quite a while.

And no, they haven't called me back either, they promise it every time!
