I think we should start a competition thread for the number of competitions entered without a single win. :D I am sure I will win.

Through all you kind MSE poster's (Fluffnit is most prolific I think!) I have entered about 80 since just before Christmas.

Will let you know by end of February if I win anything at all.

Thanks for the welcome, I've been comping since 2000 when my DD was born but took a long break as it was starting to take over my life and nothing else got done. But DH and DS are both missing the prizes and have decided my new years resolution has to be take up comping again.

I use Loquax and used to be a board mod on there, I stick to the closing soon comps as it's not so long then to find out if you have a win. I try to work about 5 days ahead though so I don't miss any that might close early. I also set myself a budget of £20 for stamps for postal comps but I don't enter any where the prize value is less than £30 as that way just one win covers my stamp money and a little bit over.

Here goes for 2007, I'll have to get DH to make me up a spreadsheet for prizes again. I've already got my £5 worth of Nectar points to stick on there.

    Hi

    Can i join too??

I used to do magazine comps all the time but didn't win much and was spending a fortune so haven't done any for a few years.

I've entered most of the ones listed over the last few days and it doesn't really take that long. So im going to spend about an hour entering them trying to enter about 20 a day and hopefully win something. Anythings a bonus as its all free.

My internet cost is AOL £17.99 a month = £215.88 i need to make.

    Hope its ok to join

You are welcome. I am trying to enter mainly free comps this year too. I tried going back to postal comps at the start of last year and didn't cover costs. Although of course wins seem to come in cycles and I would have won if I had persisted. I ma doing internet/ email and some texts as i have a lot of unused credit on my phone. I put £10 a month on for the 02 300 free texts, but rarely use the £10.

Hello and welcome. Are you on the same AOL package as me?

Welcome, I think a prize a month is a good goal. I actually considered this first too :)

Then looking at my budget I decided that one of my few 'luxuries' was the internet, so it would have to pay for any other luxuries ( there is some logic in there somewhere  ).

No Prudent, im on Talk Talk, we pay £21 a month but that for our line rental all our phone calls and our broadband connection, so I think broadband is roughly half so thought £120 seemed about right
