If he is currently not working I would say give it a go. If nothing else it will be a bit of an eye opener.

I agree with this. If he's not giving up a job or investing any money, I don't see that he's got anything to lose. Any experience is good experience.

This is a full on scam and they will be shut down very soon.

No business can operate giving advice on financial investments unless it is approved by the FSA. Staff will need basic financial qualification (I am going to work in finance, but in the IT department and even I have to take the IMC - Investment Management Certificate! I'm not even working on investments!).

    Cold calling is also illegal.

But hell a jobs a job isn't it?

I just had a call from these guys trying to get me to invest in carbon credits, I asked if they were regulated and the guy on the phone said no.

Seems dodgy to me, I don't have any cash to invest in any case but the guy wouldn't take no for an answer.

He said the credits were trading for around £6 currently with an estimated value of £9 or so within 12-18 months - yeah, right.

  • Haha this sounds like my first job interview. And the only way they're making £5,000 a month selling carbon is if it's a spank. I know of very few decent carbon companies. I know this is discrimination but now I avoid "Essex boy" brokerages.

It sounds to me like the MD watched boiler room and tried to replicate Ben Afflecks speech in it.
