As you can see by my post count, I don't post very often. I have been lurking for a while though. Long before I got my user id.
I had my LBM in August this year - but I knew I had a problem before that! Through reading the posts on this forum, I have learned a lot. I have also gained a lot of strength and motivation from hearing about others in situations similar to mine.
For the first time in many years, I have done all my Christmas shopping without using any credit cards. I've even made some money through Quidco, which will go towards next Christmas.
For the first time in a long time, I'm not using my overdraft facility. I'm in the black :j
And these are only two examples.
I don't feel alone with my problem anymore.
So to all of you who've helped me without even knowing it, thank you.

You are giving me a lot of help, because I don't want to talk about it to my friends and family.LBM: August 2006 £12,568.49 - DFD 22nd March 2012

From what I can gather on MSE, the friends and relatives with the shiniest cars and biggest houses are often the ones secretly worried sick by their own debts. You may not want to boast about how you are dealing with your debts, but you are allowed to feel proud inside.

Absolutely! This site is the best ever. My inlaws know the extent of our debts and actually understand but I could never tell my parents. I let slip the other day that we are struggling to my mum and she made me feel 6 all over again! If you wait for perfect conditions, nothing would ever get done! :T
I'm not short - I'm condensed awesome!
