The best deal you have got last second for overseas

I have not been abroad now since 2005, I object to the prices :rotfl:Back then 3 of us 2 adults one child went to Corfu 2 weeks SC for £590 total price (Not PP) Same holiday today would be £1500 plus.

Lot of people have said to me book last second and go for next to nothing. So thought I would ask whats the best deal anyone has got walking into a travel agent or booking online on the actual day you want to travel? Family holidays please preferably 10-14 days. Due to goverment regulations we like everyone are stuck to school holidays so if you have a school holiday price even better :D

Have done looking today the prices leaving today are not any different to two weeks ago  Admit I have not been via every one of those links but seems maybe online is not the way to go, maybe its a travel agent that gets last second cheap prices.

What I want here is an actual list of what deals people have got maybe where from etc.

    Cheers

from when i worked for the big boys (i worked for GP), once it got to within 48 hours of departure, holidays were sold off to staff at stupid prices. now going back 5 years so may have changed, but a 7 night holiday sold for about £49pp, and 14 nights for about £89 - including flights, transfers etc etc etc. sometimes they were AOA, other times named. THem prices were for SC, however they also gave great deals on BB, HB, FB & AI. usually it was at properties where they had pre-paid room quota's, and was basically to fill the aircraft. Not sure if thats how they work now, but anyone who came into the office to go that day or the day after were often dissappointed, as most holidays had been snapped up by the travel staff.

I think if you are not too fussy where you go + want basic accom then you will get something around the £150 pp mark for a week with one of the companies advertising on https://www.icelolly.com

A few years back we went in June - was very cheap and a last-minute accommodation on arrival job. OTOH going now in summer/school holidays well that's a different story and we wouldn't expect the same low price.

In 1995 my partner and I went all inclusive to St Lucia for £800, yes £400 per person including luggage, in flight meals and transfers for 14 nights, we went to the TA at 9am and were on an 8pm flight from Manchester, oh how things have changed!

£149 each for 2 adults to Zante August 2004. Booked within 2 weeks of departure thru First Choice. Bargain. It was a lot cheaper in resort back then also.

Prices have really hiked up, but if you want a real idea of price, wait until the first week of school holidays and see what the last minute prices are showing at, as school holiday prices are pretty crazy and can't be compared to last minute prices for now, IMO.
