I use my hand mixer as I can't stand even the tiniest lump. It's easy and fast. I mash swede and carrot with a fork as I like the lumps in those!:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0

The best mash of all was shown by Heston Blumenthal on one of his TV progs recently.
Bake your spuds in the oven in their skins, cut them in half, scoop out the potato, then mash that lightly with a bit of butter.

I've had them done like that before moonrakerz and it is lovely, was a chef where I used to work made them like that. He used to call it baked mash, unsure if there is a a proper name for it.One day I might be more organised...........

to make mash potatoes i normally put the spuds in the microwave for 10 mins then just put them through the ricer. it comes out lovely then just add some butter or whatever you like to add.
I got mine from lakeland kitchen shop year ago so don't know if they still do them. But they have a website so you could have a look0
