A little advice/ help please! (tempassignment)

Hi

I got a message today about a temp assignment lasting til the end of the week starting tomorrow. I was supposed to be told Friday just gone to start today LOL better late than never :j

I don't claim any benefits or JSA after the debacle last time so no issue there but I also have a second interview Friday for a job I really want. (They are aware, was upfront about it to the agency placing me)

I am a little confused now as the agency doesn't have my P45 nor asked for it but I am aware if I hand it over I'll be stuck for the other job (hoping against hope I get it) as I know no payroll/ tax office that works that fast! Do you think they are going to send me a P46 for me to sign or end up on emergency tax? All they have sent me is a timesheet and a form to fill in bacs details.

As far as I am aware the assignment is just til Friday

If that makes any sense, do I

..do nothing and see what happens, emergency tax would be crud but livable as such a short assignment.

..post my P45 knowing that it won't get there until mid/ end of assignment for them to process after the fact, and use a P46 for the other (ft) job I am going for or a new P45 should it appear dependent on other job turnaround.

..ask for a P46 then give my P45 to the other job (if I am lucky ) and hope it doesn't stuff my records up!

If only you'd just called the agency whilst they were open and asked what to do on a week's assignment about p45s etc; you might already have an answer. Have a try now and see if they are still there and ask.
