Tax Return - How long does a refund take?

Quick question I hope. Just filed my Tax Return online, which showed me as being owed a reasonable amount back. I provided my bank details - but how long does it take them to process it? I don't have to wait until April 2012, do I?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Normally 3 to 4 weeks. I chase them after one month. In about 10% of cases (my estimate, small data sample) they block such refunds. Needless to say, it never occurs to them to tell either taxpayer or agent that a refund has been blocked, never mind why.Hideous Muddles from Right Charlies0

6 days for me, this year - submitting it on a Friday evening Admittedly, not an over-complicated one this time, and that may have been a factor.Living for tomorrow might mean that you survive the day after.
It is always different this time. The only thing that is the same is the outcome.
Portfolios are like personalities - one that is balanced is usually preferable.

Thanks both.
Mine (I think) is a pretty simple one - answered 'no' to pretty much everything, entered two numbers off my P60 and clicked 'submit'0 -
Wow - surely that has to be a record? Submitted my return on Monday - money arrived in my account today!
And it wasn't a small amount either!0
