  • You say some 6 years ago -When precisely?
Is it more than 6 years?
If so it is now time barred and cannot be enforced against your wife.
  • had a look on this site and they seem well.......
  • Know the feeling got one the other day.., please pay or we'll send in the baillifs ??? You cant do that in Scotland stupid people.
Isn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?

You can't do it in England either - not without a CCJ.
I think these 'vultures' just like to send these letters out before Christmas, just to spoil peoples enjoyment over the 'festive' period.
They probably also derive pleasure from pulling legs off of spiders.
I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

  • I get the impression they buy a list of people who've had debt problems, look up their details to see who they've had credit with in the past few years, & then send out letters asking for money. If people are used to being chased for money they probably don't investigate it & just pay. If they ask for details they just forget that one.

In other words I think it's a scam.

Try asking for details of the debt, & if they don't come back with any answers report them along with your suspicions.
