Contract phone-Discharged bankrupt?

Hi
I'm a discharged bankrupt (October 2010) and wondered what the position was on getting a contract phone?

I take it the £500 max borrowing limit still applies?

I don't want to mad and get a souper douper I-phone or anything but I do want to make sure I am applying myself properly

Anybody's help would be greatly appreciated!
:)

Once your discharged the £500 rule isnt applicable that only stands while your bankrupt

contracts will be difficult...best to three 3 mobile or Orange they've been known to offer 30 day sim only contracts with a possible upgrade to a contract later down the line...have you read the credit file cleanup sticky at the top of this forum? that'll help if things are as they should be on your credit files

although...credit WILL be difficult while bankruptcy sits on your files for 6yrs

    Hi monkeyw,

I've tried with 3, as i wanted to upgrade to an i phone, they were offering good deals, but the minute you mention bankrutpcy, thats it. I've tried on a couple of occasions, now.

However, i 've retained my contract phone throughout my bankruptcy. I have told them i'm bankrupt, and they were happy to continue, with my contract. It has to be said, though, i've had a contract with them for longer than i can remember, probably getting on for 10 years. Unfortunately they don't stock the iphone, but never mind. I got a very expensive phone and a very reasonable package. Which reminds me, i'm almost due for an upgrade, i think.

I rely on my phone, heavily for work, so its not something i can easily discard.

If you want to know which company it is, let me know, and i will pm you.

I managed to get 2 HTC Desire phones on monthly contracts with Virgin Mobile, but it is very hit and miss.
